Mexico Energy Efficiency Mission Seminar
ECEE member Alliance to Save Energy will lead US energy efficiency companies on an energy efficiency mission seminar, focusing on the hotel sector, to Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City in Mexico, October 19 - 22, 1999. China Energy Efficiency Mission Seminar
ECEE member Alliance to Save Energy will lead US energy efficiency companies on an energy efficiency mission seminar, focusing on the industrial, hotel and hospital sectors, to Shanghai, China, November 11 - 16, 1999. To confirm your company’s participation as educational speakers to identify energy-saving opportunities for industrial, hotel and hospital owners, as well as financial, general and maintenance managers, contact ECEE.

International ESCO Summit
ECEE member the National Association for Energy Service Companies is hosting an International ESCO Summit on November 17, 1999 in Pasadena, CA. The Summit is designed to bring together representatives from ESCOs, industry associations, government agencies, and energy efficiency groups worldwide to share information and their experience in developing an ESCO industry in their respective countries. There will be speakers from Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Japan, and Ukraine. For more information, contact ECEE.

1999 China Energy Conference and Exhibition
Companies specializing in energy efficiency, small power systems and cogeneration development and environmental projects are invited to meet with over 150 Chinese company directors, managers, and government decision-makers from energy-intensive sectors such pulp and paper, hotels, hospitals, office buildings, and department stores. Brazil Heat Recovery Equipment
ABESCO, the Brazilian association of Energy Service Companies, would like to make contact with heat recovery equipment companies, specializing in heat recovery for small natural gas engines (500 - 1200 KW). For more information, contact ECEE.

Chile Air Conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration
Aire Chile Ltda, an importer and wholesaler of air conditioning and industrial equipment and systems, is interested in contacting US manufacturers of equipment and new technologies for air conditioning and industrial refrigeration systems. For more information, contact ECEE.

Hong Kong Heat Pumps

Ukraine Energy Efficiency
UKRESCO (Ukrainian Energy Service Company), with proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, will undertake projects to improve energy efficiency and provide energy saving services to commercial, industrial and public sector clients in Ukraine. The proposed projects will require the procurement of a range of goods, works and services in connection with energy efficiency technologies. Tendering for the contracts is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 1999, but interested suppliers, contractors, and consultants should contact them immediately. Ukraine Insulation and Building Materials
An established Ukrainian insulation and building materials company, which currently sells a wide variety of European materials, is interested in expanding their product line to include more variety and other brand names. For more information, contact ECEE.

Clean-Energy Partnerships: Developing Global Solutions
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and a host of other key organizations will hold an international conference on energy efficiency and renewable energy November 14 – 16, 1999 in Seattle, WA. The conference will focus on successful international partnerships and the tools (technology, financing, policy) used to overcome barriers. ACEEE Summer Study Call for Papers
The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy has issued a call for papers for its 2000 Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings to be held August 20 – 25, 2000 at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, CA. For more information, contact ECEE.

Brazilian Electric Utilities Energy Efficiency Orientation Visit
The US Trade and Development Agency (TDA) is sponsoring an orientation visit to bring Brazilian electric utility representatives to the US to familiarize them with energy efficient technologies and services currently being marketed and utilized in the United States. TDA will host a Business Briefing in Atlanta on October 20 during which the utilities will make brief presentations of their energy efficiency programs and hold private meetings with U.S. equipment and service providers. Financing Corner: World Bank to Approve Brazil Efficiency Loan
The World Bank appears ready to approve a landmark $43.4 million energy-efficiency loan to Eletrobras, Brazil’s national electric utility holding company. The loan will support the implementation of commercial technologies ranging from energy-efficient streetlights to energy-efficient industrial motors. Part of the loan will be used to hire energy service companies to retrofit government buildings. For more information, contact ECEE.
